Art Club Sessions with Kate Cooke

THURSDAY EVENINGS 6.30-8.30pm

A series of art sessions covering a variety of mixed media techniques including watercolour, gouache, coloured pencil, acrylic and collage.

Every session uses a different artist's work to inspire a style or technique and you can join in just one or take all of them.

Join Kate on a creative journey through mark making, printing, painting, drawing and collaging, for a fun and rewarding art session.

All levels are welcome, if you just want to dabble in art for some “me” time or have some experience and want to push your style into new areas Kate will accommodate and customise the session to suit you.

All materials are provided.

A watery scene:

Inspired by the artist Yellena James we will create a semi abstract underwater scene using seaweed and coral as inspiration.

With a combination of watercolours, inks, brusho and paint pens this is a fun and easy way to create a beautiful kaleidoscopic watery scene.

Mixed media squares:

Often referred to as grid journaling we will create small abstract squares, playing with form, colour and texture in a mixture of mediums including collage, acrylic paint and marker pen.

The finished piece will be square artwork that can be mounted and used on a greeting card.

A floral arrangement:

Inspired by the artist Victoria Johnson we will create beautiful floral compositions using water colour, gouache and pencil.

Experimenting with colour schemes and planning simple but striking flowers in a bold and contemporary style.

Experimental Seascapes:
Using a combination of watercolour, gouache, brusho (exciting new medium) and pencil we will have fun experimenting with watery techniques and contrasting them with the flat graphic qualities of gouache to produce a stylised coastal scene.
